I started back at the gym in June 2008, 45 years old and weighing 18st 3lbs. At the height of 6ft 2 inches and a large framed guy, others were saying, you’re not that weight, but you carry it well! Yes I was! (My weight as adult, up until the age of 38 was always around 13st 3lb) So with a couple of sporting injuries, in the last 2 to 3 years, (badly damaged right knee, through playing squash and a broken left leg, through rock climbing and carrying the extra weight on my joints), my mobility and joint flexibility had went downhill.

A few weeks before starting with Neil, in June 2008, I was at the gym doing all cardio machine training, Monday to Friday, for anything up to 2 hours at a time! My thinking was to go more often, stay longer, exercise faster and eat very little food at all. It was only a matter of time before I hit the physical and mental wall with exhaustion! There had to be a more sensible way to keep fit and have a normal business, family and social life, without having to withdraw from being normal.

THERE IS!

Today my weight is 15st 7lb and reducing all the time. I am dropping fat and adding muscle which I know helps boost my metabolism. The exercises that Neil incorporated into my different routines have been amazing in strengthening my right knee joint and the broken left leg. My knee injury has all but vanished. I previously had difficulty getting out of the car and had been to 3 different private physiotherapists!
